- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I stayed here with my husband for our wedding anniversary i wont even class it as one star beyond dreadful. Appalling behaviour from the landlady who was just shocking nasty towards me and my husband totally disgusting rooms lice riddened i saw bed bugs as size of my thumb nail i was bitten very badly by what ever was in the room when i sat on the bed. It was that bad that my husband and i didnt stay we stayed else where we stayed in a different hotel in Melrose. The land lady needs to be prosecuted for her intimidating threatening behaviour her attitude and behaviour is just so bad she needs to go to court. Like the other people have said its a really run down horrible hotel and pub and the landlady isnt at all nice or welcoming she hates people who dont live in Scotland she will see you as a outcast and definitely would make your life a living hell.
